The globular body with decorative grooves around the shoulder and raised disk base, the narrow neck with flared mouth and single loop handle. H: 8 1/8" (20.7 cm); W: 7 3/4" (19.7 cm). A large roman red-ware amphora, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD. The body with vertical ribbing ridges around the shoulder, the foot is flared and a pair of strap handles flank the widely flared mouth.
